SELMA Advanced Fleet Energy Saving Telemetry System (Completed 31.12.2025)

SELMA has successfully completed the Advanced Fleet Energy Saving Telemetry System, an innovative maritime telemetry and energy intelligence platform developed to enable high-resolution digital monitoring, algorithmic performance optimisation, and fleet-level decarbonization across modern shipping operations.

The system integrates advanced telemetry, data fusion and energy analytics technologies to deliver:

✓ High-frequency real-time telemetry acquisition from critical onboard systems and energy consumers
✓ Secure data aggregation, normalization and intelligent processing of operational and energy datasets
✓ Advanced analytics dashboards, predictive trend analysis and performance benchmarking
✓ Automated fuel consumption modelling and CO₂ emissions quantification algorithms
✓ Data-driven decision support and optimisation intelligence for fleet energy efficiency

With the completion of the project, SELMA now offers a fully operational and commercially deployable digital platform that enhances operational transparency, supports evidence-based fleet management, and contributes to the maritime sector’s transition toward lower-carbon and energy-efficient operations.

Delivering Measurable Value to Fleet Operators

SELMA Advanced Fleet Energy Saving Telemetry System provides shipping companies with end to end visibility into vessel energy behaviour and emissions performance through advanced telemetry and operational data analytics. By transforming heterogeneous onboard datasets into actionable operational intelligence, the platform enables operators to identify optimisation opportunities, improve voyage efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and support evidence-driven decision processes based on real-time and historical performance analytics.

The system architecture follows a scalable and modular digital framework, allowing seamless integration across different vessel classes, propulsion configurations, and fleet sizes.

Sustainability in Action

The implemented system directly contributes to improved vessel energy efficiency and measurable CO₂ emissions reduction, supporting compliance with evolving environmental regulations while strengthening the operational and environmental competitiveness of maritime fleets in the transition toward sustainable shipping.

The project was implemented under the “Development of Digital Products and Services” programme of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – Greece 2.0, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. (Project Budget: €216,864.67 EU Funding: €106,589.34)
